This piece was painted from a photograph taken by the late Josef Muench sometime around 1943 on the Navajo Reservation. Joseph Muench's photographic works are now housed in the Cline Library Special Collections and Archives Department at Northern Arizona University. Permission was given to use Mr. Muench's photograph.
